Human

Its funny how good and evil can coexist in one, and surprisingly, with little conflict.

That's life isn't it? Full on ironies.

Humans are hypocritical creatures by nature. We lust, greed, pander to our own desires. We change to suit various situations. We adapt. We betray, gossip, back stab.

Why?

I don't know. I always thought we were born this way. Only our surroundings and upbringing change us.

What friendship? More like win-win situations. And eternal love? Please, stop denying reality.

The current world is all about Darwinism; survival of the fittest. One must constantly improve one's standards, seek for more and not lose out. How do we achieve this? By any means, I tell you. "Good honest, cultured m
en die young" some say.

I am not writing this post to propagate the need for underhanded means to survive. No, rather, I am just reflecting my thoughts on us, human beings.

Humans are complex creatures. On one hand, able to perform great acts of charity. On the other, capable of the most underhan
ded means of betrayal. It's a constant battle that rages within all of us-within the better angels of our nature and the temptation of our inner demons. And sometimes, the only way to ward off the darkness... is to shine the light of compassion.

Walking On Air

Walking On Air
Kerli

There's a little creepy house
In a little creepy place
Little creepy town
In a little creepy world
Little creepy girl
With her little creepy face
Saying funny things that you have never heard

Do you know what it's all about
Are you brave enough to figure out
Know that you could set your world on fire
If you are strong enough to leave your doubts

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

She has a little creepy cat
And a little creepy bat
Little rocking chair and an old blue hat
That little creepy girl
Oh she loves to sing
She has a little gift
An amazing thing
With her little funny eyes of hazel
With her little funny old blue hat
She will go and set the world on fire
No one ever thought she could do that

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

Flitter up
and Hover down
Be all around
Be all around

You know that I love you, go on

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill this
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

I am walking on air x3

Personally, I fell in love with the chorus :) My intepretation of the chorus is to be daring and bold and do what your heart tells you to and you'll enjoy it. :)

Very true. Sometimes, we lose out on many fun opportunities due to self inhibitions like what would others think of you. Well, simple, just be yourself and soon, you will find yourself "walking on air"

:)

Any songs you would like to recommend? COMMENT OR LEAVE A TAG :)

Dreams

I enjoy dreaming.

I enjoy transporting myself to different worlds. I enjoy envisioning the future. I enjoy thinking the impossible.

Dreams are an essential part of my life, realistic or not. I live and feed on dreams. Dreams open doors, produce ideas, push boundaries.

I dream of positive stuff, of worlds where evil never exists, where the good always triumphs. I dream of utopias, of lands full of bright and mellow sunshine, of never-ending happiness. In short, I dream to escape reality.

I need to dream. For a simple reason,

Reality sucks.

STRUT

I dedicate the title of this post to the fabulous song of Adam Lambert, 'Strut'. But that's not my point. I've got many things I want to say. Ok...

1. Secondary 1 Parent Symposium

As some of you here may know, I was the emcee for the Secondary 1 Parent Symposium. The CHINESE version. It was certainly a nerve-wrecking experience. Of course, Im in drama and all this should be a piece of cake. HOWEVER, on stage, the houselights are out and I am meant to ignore the audience. Now, I am in front of a sea of foreign faces, wearing an uncomfortably unglamorous outfit lent by the awesome Ming Xia and delivering my lines. It turned out well by the way :)

2. Driving

My mother was sending back after the exhausting Parent Symposium. On the way home, some inconsiderate driver, trying to cut into my mother's lane, whilst doing so, hit my car. So there was a loud "BOOM" then my mother immediately looked back and muttered one of her seldom said "B****". Anyway, she turned to a nearby petrol kiosk to check what happened. Turns out, the guy didnt just scoot off. He actually followed us and took a look too. THANK GOD NOTHING HAPPENED.

3. Moral Strength

I was eating at Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre one day. And those who have been there before, IT IS ALWAYS SUPER PACKED AT NIGHT AND SMOKY. But, the food there is AWESOME. How can one not fall in love with SPICY stingray/squid/clams?!

Anyway, there were many people sourcing out seats. So, after I ate finish and was about to leave with my family, this guy just rushed in. Note, before that, there was this lady waiting there for us to finish. So, she just turned around, looking a little indignant. Somehow, a sudden strength flooded me and I said, ''Sorry, she came first." The guy saw her then me and went away. :)

She looked at me with the huge look of gratitude and I could tell she was almost at the verge of saying "Can I marry my daughter, Arthura to you? It would be my honour" Anyway, I feel Good after that :)

MUCH HAS HAPPENED.

CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT.

SO, a little advice

1. TRUST NO ONE
2. SURVIVE AT ALL COST

I need MORE

In life, we need certain goals, philosophies, values etc.

These life necessities have already been inculcated into us once we were in Primary school. In my case, my primary school had this motto of WISE which stands for

W-Well balanced
I-Innovative
S-Socially Responsible
E-Enterprising Learner

When the school starts 'brain-washing' us into such values, I actually felt it was useless and purely for impressing parents in order to persuade them to send their children into my school. However, that was the young and dumb me. Now, I see the importance of values and philosophies.

I am no one to preach about life. I am merely a 13 year old foolish mortal. However, setbacks and successes in life have made me learned a lot. And most of the times, lessons I learnt were learnt the hard way. But, after learning it the hard way, I reflect and I learn. Here a a few philosophies of mine...

1. I need MORE

That was a shortened version of the fabulous song "I want it all". Well, some of you might say,

"Tsk. Greedy pig"

Well, au contraire. The endless pursuit of fame, academic excellence, money is what we live for. We do not live just to be contented with what we have. We live to strive for more. If you are capable of attaining more? Why not? More is what defines current society standards. Is a "The Fame" CD enough? NO, we need MORE. Is a condominium enough? NO, we need MORE.

Certainly, such behaviour brings about 1 of the sevenly deadly sins, greed. But, that's life isn't it? Life isn't fair. We must always strive to be superior, to be the elite and not lose out to others for fear of being eliminated.

2. Optimism

Evidently, I'm a very "half-full" person. I am never a pessimist, albeit being a little cynical once in a while but still, my optimism comes from certain sources...
1. My friends
Definitely in life, you will learn not to trust anybody but I have 3 I can trust and THANK YOU!!!
2. Songs
Songs are my huge source of encouragement and motivation. I feel tired, "Love Game" comes on. I feel euphoric, "Just Dance" plays. I feel disheartened, "Don't give up" comes on. By the way, DON'T GIVE UP IS A GREAT SONG. It was sung by The Midway State, featuring lady Gaga. Lady Gaga's part was awesome but can't say the same about TMS but still, back to the topic.
So, that's about it :)
What's your philosophy on life?
