RIP

Just recently, a famous fashion designer died. Now, fashion might not be your interest. But still, a little extra knowledge wouldn't be bad. Besides, he's a phenomena. So, this post is dedicated to his works. And hopefully, you would see the beauty in fashion and not be an idiot by calling it s***.

Above are some of the amazing designs he had. Some may look just bizarre but this is fashion!

RIP McQueen
We will miss you

Intrapersonal

a. Who would you want to be friends with in the novel? Explain.

Hmm... I contemplated between Boo, Atticus and Scout.

And I think I shall choose Atticus.

Atticus is a very smart person. I wouldnt mind having an elder advising me on the perils of life. After all, he has 'eaten more salt than the rice I have eaten'. He could just be the stepfather I never had.

Besides, he seems like a very interesting man. Just look at his parenting style. Very unique. I like special people. Dont ask me why. :) He has very special views on certain issues and has a vast knowledge. More of such people in my world wouldnt hurt.

Well, thats about it.

Bises,
FTH

Linguistic

1.You have conducted an interview with one of the characters in TKAM. Write out the interview transcript, taking note to demonstrate the essence of the character and his/her point of view.

Me: Hello Arthur.

Arthur: [shy and soft] Hi.

Me: I love what you're wearing!

Arthur: Thanks. [Bashful smile] Its Prada.

Me: Lovely. Now, I heard of your scandalous past... Mine telling us more?

Arthur: Erm... Its really horrid. I had a father who was a psycho foot washing baptist and I suffered much under him. Can you imagine it? Being locked all day?! Its ridiculous.

Me: My most sincere condolences... Hmm, what did you feel about discrimination?

Arthur: Which kind? Racial, gender?

Me: Racial Prejudice.

Arthur: I condone such racial discrimination. Its bad. All people should be equal and such discrimination is really bad for you.

Me: I agree totally. Lets hope karma gets them soon.

Arthur: I think all humans have this evil side. Which is maybe why I like children. Those full of innocence, yet to be exposed to the evils of society.

Me: Ahh. Thats really interesting. Thank you Arthur.

Arthur: [Smiles]

Multiple Intelligence Test

I hate boring titles. They're just so... so... mood dampening.

Anyway, the test results were...

I was a linguistic and interpersonal person! In short, it just meant I am more able in the languages and human relations. Something like that.

Hmm.. I knew I was linguistic since a long time ago. Actually, since I got a 64 for Math in Primary 5. I am definitely NOT a mathematical person. Well, I intend pursuing a career and further my studies in the arts stream and hopefully be some rich professor/tutor in the future.

Ok, back to my results... As for intrapersonal... Hmm.. To certain extent yes, I am sociable and I am willing to chat to almost anyone. Evidently, I am a more extroverted and noisy kind of person.

In a whole, I work better in groups. Somehow. And I enjoy using pictorial diagrams etc. which aids me in my learning. I can use my intrapersonal skills and get invaluable advice from teachers and seniors too. :)

So, thats about it. Next 2 posts are the serious stuff. Stay tuned!

Fame

We all seek the fame.We love it.

Who doesn't enjoy attention? Being in the limelight. Basking in people's envy. We have to admit, a part of us does love the fam
e.

I cant really give a proper definition to Fame myself. So, I relied on dictionary.com, here's what they said:
widespread reputation;public eminence
. We seek fame in many ways, participating in competitions, trying to win prizes and getting the rare chance of being in front the whole student population, smiling and bowing when your name is called. Fame is what makes people see you in a different light. Be it positive or negative.

Andy Warhol, an American known for him being a leading figure in pop art, once said "Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes."

He's a really interesting man but let me focus on the quote. So, we all have 15 minutes of fame in our lives. Some people clasp onto these 15 minutes like diamonds. Just look at the many Tiger Woods mistresses. I highly doubt all of them really copulated with him, some may just be desperately holding on to their 15 minutes of fame, hoping to open more paths for themselves, be it more interviews etc.

Sometimes, in the pursuit of fame, it is inevitable for some conflicts. Life isnt one smooth sailing trip. We will be bound to meet some enemies, get backstabbed, get sabotaged etc. And through this rough experiences, we wisen up and grow tougher. And sometimes, we take the offensive, as a defensive measure. With increasing popularity, we arent sure who we can trust. Everything gets rather superficial. True friends are rare.

So, we can constantly seek fame, and sometimes, at any cost. However, at the end of the day, we would eventually be left with no family, no friends, nothing. And that is when we will realise, what we sought wasn't what we wanted all along
.
So, what is your perception of fame? Is it similar to mine?

Blog Updates

Bonsoir all!

"Its out with the old, in with the new. Goodbye clouds of grey, hello skies of blue..."

On this note, I shall introduce new updates and changes to my magnificent blog.

Blog Changes:

1. URL: Last year: "platinumdragon123" That's so 2009. Now, "my-dystopic-utopia". To summarise why I chose that url, it is impossible to live in a perfect world. But yet, I feel my world now to be rather awesome, hence the oxymoronic URL

2. Blog Template: Black is cool, but maybe a little boring. So, I brought it green. :)

3. I intend to do a check [once every 5 posts]. This check will be for content and reader sustainability. So, if I find the post lacking in content, I shall inject in more substance. If it is boring, pictures and videos.

4. Blog Title: Soliloquies on Life. My blog posts are related to life, in one way or another. So, its just my personal view and take on current news etc.

5. Pictures and Videos. I shall try to add more pictures and videos for the blog can get a little dry.

6. Font: Trebuchet is so much nicer, I just realised.

And lastly...

7. COLLABORATIONS!!!! :D

For the first time, I have decided to test out doing combined blog posts. The first one would be entitled 'THE FINE LINE'. Cool eh? Stay tuned then.

Well, that's about it. If you have any suggestions you would like to make, leave a comment or drop a tag. It would be greatly appreciated.

Height Issues

I write this post to address certain issues.

Height Issues, to be exact.

I CAN SEE YOU LAUGHING/SMIRKING/GRINNING.

I am not here to wallow in self pity and describe myself so horribly just to elicit a little sympathy from you. I dont need sympathy.

Everyone's imperfect. We all have flaws. We try to conceal them and sometimes, we fail. So, why not live with it. And see these in an optimistic light.

And sometimes, if you are feeling really crestfallen and devoid of hope, listen to some good music, those which makes you hyper. Alternatively, scream. It always feels better after a scream. Call a friend with the same problem, scream together (: That makes things fun!

And if people start poking fun at you, its always good to have a little sarcastic remarks up your sleeves (: Or, constantly walk with your friends, I always believed in strength in numbers, someone insults you, your entire gang goes "BOO YOU _____" (:

So, this is my little self motivation post. Im not going to post on CNY, because Im sure no one here is interested. But, a little highlights

1. I CARRIED A BABY!!!!!!!!
2. I polished off an entire box of love letters.
3. I accidentally intruded on a breastfeeding session -.-

On a side note, I think I shall watch "My New BFF" (: Looks quite cool.

COMMENT!

How do you deal with flaws?

Hypothesis

Happy Early Chinese New Year!!!!!

This is a random blog post with little substance. But still, I felt like posting it :)

As we all know, music transcends all boundaries, past all religions, ethnicities, cultures etc.

Hence, my hypothesis is "If Lady Gaga existed in the 18th, 19th, 20th century, no war would have broken out."

BRILLIANT HYPOTHESIS. SOMEONE JOIN ME TO DO A CAT. 1 PROJECT

Lady Gaga has strong fan bases in Germany, China etc. If she was present then, perhaps no war would have broken out. People would be sharing the same passion for her wonderful music and fashion sense etc.

And nationalist, militarist, imperialist ambitions would all dissolve as they are too enraptured by this goddess's charm.

I dare say Hitler would be too mesmerized.

So, any weird hypothesis of yours you want to share? (:

Mood Swings

There are many things one wish he/she could exterminate from this word. Culture for instance.

Likewise, there are many things I am unhappy with in this world. But I shall concentrate on a particular thing I dislike. Mood Swings.

Mood Swings: A common occurence during a women's pre-menstrual syndrome, or more commonly known as PMS. Also, after one has experienced a rough side of life, people tend to get moody and pessimistic.

I myself have suffered from mood swings before. A rather horrible experience, I must say. It affects you and people around you. I recall my primary school days.

I sat beside this girl who at certain days of the month, turned extremely titchy and irritable. I shant delve into the details. I just want to say mood swings not only affect you but also others.

I suggest one talk to friends when you experience mood swings, and try listening to some good music. E.G. Lady Gaga.

Well, this post is quite useless I must say. But, my ultimate point is be happy :) Smiles are better than frowns.

.

I believe everyone is a complex individual.

I am too.

Its quite surprising actually, seeing people in different moods. Take me for instance, I am crazy when I hang out with my friends. Maybe its because we all belong to the same social clique and have many things in common, thus clicking on well. I dont know.

However, I realised. Without friends, I am silent and reserved. I am no longer that boisterous, noisy hyperactive kid. When I am alone, I start getting reflective. I brood over daily stuff, realised how much I have procrastinated, how lucky I was and most of the time, these time spent by myself get me feeling 'emo'.

Well, I dont know why I am writing such a post. I just want to say, do not judge people by what they appear to be. It is inevitable to do so but just try. You dont want to be misunderstood, do you?

Friendship

Recently, many have done a post on CAMARADERIE after the incident in class.

Well, I am going to do so to. But before you close this tab, thinking mine will be the same as others, think twice, for I am going to prove you wrong. :)

I recall this quote

"Your best friend will become your worst enemy"

There is no reason explaining love or hate. Its just this feeling within you that attracts/distances you from the other person.

I 'fondly' recall my primary school days, I used to have this great friend. But this bond melted away somewhere in Primary 6 and morphed into this wave of seething hatred.

Our rivalry was infamous I must say. I would scream when I realise I won him in a test and do all sorts of mean things. But thats the past. Now, I have put the past behind me and that guy is no longer a problem.

Friends are essential, they make life fun, they empathise.

I am unable to imagine a world without Hui Ming, Grady and Ryan. Well, this sounds wrong but we have all made influences in each other's lifes and I certainly hope this friendship will last till the day we die :)

Of course, in reality, no friendship comes without a little squabble.

But still, cherish the present :) For it is an unpredictable future.

Human

Its funny how good and evil can coexist in one, and surprisingly, with little conflict.

That's life isn't it? Full on ironies.

Humans are hypocritical creatures by nature. We lust, greed, pander to our own desires. We change to suit various situations. We adapt. We betray, gossip, back stab.

Why?

I don't know. I always thought we were born this way. Only our surroundings and upbringing change us.

What friendship? More like win-win situations. And eternal love? Please, stop denying reality.

The current world is all about Darwinism; survival of the fittest. One must constantly improve one's standards, seek for more and not lose out. How do we achieve this? By any means, I tell you. "Good honest, cultured m
en die young" some say.

I am not writing this post to propagate the need for underhanded means to survive. No, rather, I am just reflecting my thoughts on us, human beings.

Humans are complex creatures. On one hand, able to perform great acts of charity. On the other, capable of the most underhan
ded means of betrayal. It's a constant battle that rages within all of us-within the better angels of our nature and the temptation of our inner demons. And sometimes, the only way to ward off the darkness... is to shine the light of compassion.

Walking On Air

Walking On Air
Kerli

There's a little creepy house
In a little creepy place
Little creepy town
In a little creepy world
Little creepy girl
With her little creepy face
Saying funny things that you have never heard

Do you know what it's all about
Are you brave enough to figure out
Know that you could set your world on fire
If you are strong enough to leave your doubts

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

She has a little creepy cat
And a little creepy bat
Little rocking chair and an old blue hat
That little creepy girl
Oh she loves to sing
She has a little gift
An amazing thing
With her little funny eyes of hazel
With her little funny old blue hat
She will go and set the world on fire
No one ever thought she could do that

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill me
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

Flitter up
and Hover down
Be all around
Be all around

You know that I love you, go on

Feel it
Breathe it
Believe it
And you'll be walking on air
Go try
Go fly
So high
And you'll be walking on air
You feel this
unless you kill this
Go on
And you're forgiven
I knew that
I could feel that
I feel like
I am walking on air

I am walking on air x3

Personally, I fell in love with the chorus :) My intepretation of the chorus is to be daring and bold and do what your heart tells you to and you'll enjoy it. :)

Very true. Sometimes, we lose out on many fun opportunities due to self inhibitions like what would others think of you. Well, simple, just be yourself and soon, you will find yourself "walking on air"

:)

Any songs you would like to recommend? COMMENT OR LEAVE A TAG :)

Dreams

I enjoy dreaming.

I enjoy transporting myself to different worlds. I enjoy envisioning the future. I enjoy thinking the impossible.

Dreams are an essential part of my life, realistic or not. I live and feed on dreams. Dreams open doors, produce ideas, push boundaries.

I dream of positive stuff, of worlds where evil never exists, where the good always triumphs. I dream of utopias, of lands full of bright and mellow sunshine, of never-ending happiness. In short, I dream to escape reality.

I need to dream. For a simple reason,

Reality sucks.

STRUT

I dedicate the title of this post to the fabulous song of Adam Lambert, 'Strut'. But that's not my point. I've got many things I want to say. Ok...

1. Secondary 1 Parent Symposium

As some of you here may know, I was the emcee for the Secondary 1 Parent Symposium. The CHINESE version. It was certainly a nerve-wrecking experience. Of course, Im in drama and all this should be a piece of cake. HOWEVER, on stage, the houselights are out and I am meant to ignore the audience. Now, I am in front of a sea of foreign faces, wearing an uncomfortably unglamorous outfit lent by the awesome Ming Xia and delivering my lines. It turned out well by the way :)

2. Driving

My mother was sending back after the exhausting Parent Symposium. On the way home, some inconsiderate driver, trying to cut into my mother's lane, whilst doing so, hit my car. So there was a loud "BOOM" then my mother immediately looked back and muttered one of her seldom said "B****". Anyway, she turned to a nearby petrol kiosk to check what happened. Turns out, the guy didnt just scoot off. He actually followed us and took a look too. THANK GOD NOTHING HAPPENED.

3. Moral Strength

I was eating at Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre one day. And those who have been there before, IT IS ALWAYS SUPER PACKED AT NIGHT AND SMOKY. But, the food there is AWESOME. How can one not fall in love with SPICY stingray/squid/clams?!

Anyway, there were many people sourcing out seats. So, after I ate finish and was about to leave with my family, this guy just rushed in. Note, before that, there was this lady waiting there for us to finish. So, she just turned around, looking a little indignant. Somehow, a sudden strength flooded me and I said, ''Sorry, she came first." The guy saw her then me and went away. :)

She looked at me with the huge look of gratitude and I could tell she was almost at the verge of saying "Can I marry my daughter, Arthura to you? It would be my honour" Anyway, I feel Good after that :)

MUCH HAS HAPPENED.

CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT.

SO, a little advice

1. TRUST NO ONE
2. SURVIVE AT ALL COST

I need MORE

In life, we need certain goals, philosophies, values etc.

These life necessities have already been inculcated into us once we were in Primary school. In my case, my primary school had this motto of WISE which stands for

W-Well balanced
I-Innovative
S-Socially Responsible
E-Enterprising Learner

When the school starts 'brain-washing' us into such values, I actually felt it was useless and purely for impressing parents in order to persuade them to send their children into my school. However, that was the young and dumb me. Now, I see the importance of values and philosophies.

I am no one to preach about life. I am merely a 13 year old foolish mortal. However, setbacks and successes in life have made me learned a lot. And most of the times, lessons I learnt were learnt the hard way. But, after learning it the hard way, I reflect and I learn. Here a a few philosophies of mine...

1. I need MORE

That was a shortened version of the fabulous song "I want it all". Well, some of you might say,

"Tsk. Greedy pig"

Well, au contraire. The endless pursuit of fame, academic excellence, money is what we live for. We do not live just to be contented with what we have. We live to strive for more. If you are capable of attaining more? Why not? More is what defines current society standards. Is a "The Fame" CD enough? NO, we need MORE. Is a condominium enough? NO, we need MORE.

Certainly, such behaviour brings about 1 of the sevenly deadly sins, greed. But, that's life isn't it? Life isn't fair. We must always strive to be superior, to be the elite and not lose out to others for fear of being eliminated.

2. Optimism

Evidently, I'm a very "half-full" person. I am never a pessimist, albeit being a little cynical once in a while but still, my optimism comes from certain sources...
1. My friends
Definitely in life, you will learn not to trust anybody but I have 3 I can trust and THANK YOU!!!
2. Songs
Songs are my huge source of encouragement and motivation. I feel tired, "Love Game" comes on. I feel euphoric, "Just Dance" plays. I feel disheartened, "Don't give up" comes on. By the way, DON'T GIVE UP IS A GREAT SONG. It was sung by The Midway State, featuring lady Gaga. Lady Gaga's part was awesome but can't say the same about TMS but still, back to the topic.
So, that's about it :)
What's your philosophy on life?
